Injured Phx Officer Pyles Donation

On Saturday, November 26, at 12 Noon, the AZ Choir Boys LEMC met with Phoenix Police Officer Jeremy Pyles and his wife, Brittany, at Buddy Stubbs Harley-Davidson, during their first responder appreciation day event. Chris “Hot Soup” Chirico, Arizona Region Six Vice President, presented a check to Jeremy. Both Jeremy and Brittany were appreciative.

Officer Jeremy Pyles told us the incident that injured him occurred on his first shift after completing field training when Payne rammed into him and other officers with his car. He (Jeremy) was thrown into the front window of the convenience store. Officer Jeremy Pyles got back up and helped his partner fight Payne for several minutes before neutralizing him with a Taser. EMS transported him to a local trauma center. The emergency room doctor believed Pyles sustained a brain bleed from the blunt trauma of being hit by the car and then being thrown into the store front. Emergency room staff shot several MRI’s of his brain over the course of the night and determined he did not have a brain bleed but had suffered a severe concussion. Pyles told us he experienced memory loss for about 30 minutes and does not remember fighting with Payne. Tony Pankowski told him about what happened after being hit and he watched it on the various videos on the incident. Besides the concussion, Officer Jeremy Pyles suffered a fractured knee cap, torn hip, and an injury to his spine. He suffers extreme pain from the back injury. He remains on medical leave and has not been able to return to work since the incident.
