Members of the AZ Choir Boys Region 7, including Chingona, Grizz, Goat, Lou, Hawkeye, Adam Henry and Michelle as well as several members of Defiant Brotherhood attended the 4th Annual Chandler Fallen Officer Run. The run was started by now retired Chandler PD Motor Officer, Chip Sikes. The run is not a fundraiser and therefore was free to participate in. Families of fallen officers were in attendance and were thankful for the support shown them.
The ride started with a prayer and moment of silence. Some of the family members of Officers who died in the line of duty took a few moments to address us and again express their gratitude for acknowledging their loss. We left from Valley of the Sun Memorial Gardens and rode as a large group through the backroads into Florence where most attendees spent nearly two hours at the River Bottom Saloon.
The Choir Boys LEMC and Defiant Brotherhood chose to meet at the Florence Café a short distance from the saloon. It’s a smaller sized café, but easily accommodated us. The food and service were excellent. We spent the time at the Café, eating, laughing, sharing fishing stories and other tall tales of conquest and debauchery…
An impromptu Region meeting was held in the parking lot where we discussed upcoming events and posed for a brief photo session with DBMC. We then rode thru Gold Canyon and on to the West Alley Barbeque in downtown Chandler where a very supporting and law enforcement friendly staff and owner welcomed us. We opted for the back-patio area where we pulled several tables together for more laughter and good times.
It was a beautiful day for an excellent ride with great people and for a good cause. We’re looking forward to the fifth annual next year and will be in touch with Chip to see about patching him into Region 7…. Adam Henry CFFC
