Arizona Choir Boys & Supporters,
On Monday, April 9, at 9:30 AM, Bill Fisher, Bob Gibbons and I met with Phoenix Police Officer Uribe, Employee Assistance Unit, at Phoenix Police Headquarters, to make our donation of $2,500 to the Rutherford family. Officer Uribe told us the Rutherford family greatly appreciates our donation.
As you recall, this story began when Officer Rutherford was investigating a crash at 75th Avenue and Indian School on March 21, 2019. He was on foot in the turn lane when a third vehicle, traveling at 50 mph in the turn lane, slammed into Officer Rutherford critically injuring him. EMS responded to the scene and transported him to Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in critical condition where he died from his injuries. Officer Rutherford was a 22 year veteran of the department. He is survived by his wife and two adult sons. Officer Rutherford was the 39th Phoenix police officer killed in the line of duty. The Arizona Choir Boys LEMC board voted unanimously to donate $2,500.00 to Jen Rutherford, Officer Rutherford’s wife.
My thanks to Bill Fisher who contacted the Phoenix Police to schedule the donation.
